mental health counseling in Westchester, NY
Hi there! I'm Dana, founder of Peaceful Living Mental Health Counseling, PLLC, in Scarsdale, NY.

I started Peaceful Living Mental Health Counseling in 2015, after the passing of my Father, Philip Louis. Having struggled with anxiety and depression for much of his life, I set out to help others struggling with the same difficulties.

My Dad went through a lot of stress and trauma in his life, from childhood through adulthood. Through it all, he managed to be an amazing Father and taught me so much about how to overcome hardship and stay motivated.

The center is named Peaceful Living after his initials, since he continues to be my inspiration every day. A butterfly is our logo because butterflies are the perfect picture of transformation.
The morning my Dad passed, I was sitting outside, feeling heartbroken and crying. A butterfly then fluttered right next to me and sat there beside me for the longest time. I knew then and there that my Dad was still around, he just changed.
We all have the ability to grow, change and transform, just like a butterfly. Sometimes, we have to revisit the past that hurt us in order to heal from it and move on.
We now have a team of therapists that can help you or your loved one on the path to wellness and recovery. We help children, teens and adults of all ages. Call our office in Scarsdale, NY to find out how you can get the life you want now.

our core values
Respect We believe that all children, teens and adults deserve love, respect, compassion and validation.

Trauma Informed We strive to provide the most quality customer service to all individuals that contact our center. We are rooted in the principles of trauma-informed care. That means we focus on what happened to you, NOT what is "wrong" with you. Much of what influences us today has its origins in our earlier life experiences. Learning to get past those events is the key to moving forward.

Time We believe that therapy should not be lifelong. We believe in providing effective counseling in the shortest timeframe possible. That way you can feel better and get on with enjoying your life!

Relationships The relationship that one has with their therapist is the single most important factor for change to take place. We create a compassionate and nurturing environment to foster healthy relationships with our clients, as well as other people or practitioners that may be involved in the treatment process.

Humor & Playfulness Laughter is always the best medicine! We understand that life is serious enough, so therapy doesn't have to be.
